Sting ray Nautica

ABOUT US

Manuel Di Nunzio, the young and dynamic owner of Emme Nautica, has turned his passion for boating into an innovative enterprise. Although the company was founded only a few years ago, it boasts solid experience in the sector thanks to its family roots: his father, Michele Di Nunzio, founded Arte Nautica, a company with over 30 years of specialisation in the production of fibreglass hulls and superstructures.

From a young age, Manuel worked alongside his father, acquiring skills in the art of fibreglass and boat assembly. His penchant for customised solutions led him to experiment with an innovative concept: a hybrid inflatable boat with a centre console similar to a jet ski, complete with handlebar and water jet. This unique design was a great success in the lakes and rivers where it was tested.

In June 2022, Manuel decided to take this vision to the next level by engaging engineer Alessandro Dondi, owner of Dondi Ingegneria Srl, a renowned Milanese company with roots dating back to 1958. With a strong background in industrial mechanical design, Dondi accepted the challenge to industrially develop this new hybrid boat. The project involved the collaboration of Federico Villa, a well-known industrial designer, and Federico Gerna, a specialist in pleasure boats.

After a year of intensive work, the first prototype of the Sportender model JST-30 was unveiled in July 2023, just in time for the 63rd Genoa Boat Show, where it was received with great interest and enthusiasm.

The design hand

Federico Villa’s approach to design is based on a fundamental concept:
A design object must, undoubtedly, be ‘beautiful’. But first of all, it must be ‘right’ for those who commission it: it must realise a dream, give substance to a vision.
This is why, through a close relationship with the customer, it aims to study his needs and desires, with the objective of identifying the best solution for the realisation of each idea.
Federico Villa – Industrial Design follows the project in every single phase, from initial studies to industrialisation, combining a careful series of analyses (technical, market, image) with a profound knowledge of the product and the correct technologies to be used.
